040B-250 | Sonic Sifter, Lab Model, 110 V/1 Ph/50-60Hz
____
Our sonic sifter is ideally suited for dry fine screening, between the particle size range of 5 to 20 μ. It will screen particles up to 5,660 μ. The screen uses a vertical, oscillating column of air set in motion by an audio loudspeaker, which exerts a force on the screening surface and material 60 times per second. The material is fluidized by the air column. Then a vertical pulse shears the agglomerates in the column and re-orients the particles in the air column to assure separation. No horizontal scrubbing or attrition of particles occurs, as does in standard screening. Therefore, no particle degradation occurs in screening in a sonic sifter.
The input power is adjustable by the operator, which will help in screening a wide variety of materials with varying characteristics. The Sonic Sifter uses 3-inch diameter sieves, and for sieving below 20 μ, the electroformed sieves are used. The sieve holder holds 6 standard sieves or 3 precision mesh, double-height sieves. For sieving below 20 μ, generally, only one sieve at a time is used.
